
John F. Ferraro, Bus Ad '77, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2006.
He is the Global Chief Operating Officer for Ernst & Young, responsible for the overall operations of Ernst & Young worldwide.
Ernst & Young is a leading professional services firm with more than 120,000 people in over 130 countries worldwide. John serves as the senior advisory partner on some of the firm’s largest and global accounts.
John began his career with Ernst & Young in 1977 in Milwaukee and served a variety of global companies during the past 29 years. He has worked in Europe (London and Rome), throughout the Midwest (Chicago, Cleveland and Kansas City) and New York. John was admitted to the partnership in 1988 and has previously served as U.S. vice chairman of sales and marketing, global vice chairman of assurance and advisory business services, and Americas vice chairman of client service.
John has also served on the board of Intellinex LLC, a Cleveland-based learning enterprise and is a member of the Audit Committee Leadership Network, a select group of 12 audit committee chairpersons from leading global companies. Active in civic and charitable organizations throughout his career, John currently is a member of the Boston College High School Board of Trustees, sits on the Board of the Business Council for International Understanding and is a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Born in Boston, John spent his early years in nearby Cambridge with his supportive parents and ten brothers and sisters. He is a graduate of Marquette University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and is married to his college classmate, Barbara. They have a daughter, Clare, and a son, Daniel. In addition to his family, John enjoys golf, travel and history. He is a member of the Marquette University President’s Council.
