
Alfred C. McGuire, Arts '73, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2012.
He is a retired senior vice president of Fidelity Investments, where he worked in a variety of leadership roles focusing on sales from 1989 to 2004 in Boston. From 1978 to 1989 he served as senior vice president at Smith Barney, working primarily in institutional sales. He began his professional career with Marine National Exchange Bank in Milwaukee from 1975 to 1978.
At Marquette, he received the Robert L. and William P. McCahill Award in 1973. The award is presented annually to the Marquette senior athlete from the previous year who has demonstrated the highest performance in scholarship, leadership and athletics.
He provided color commentary for Marquette men's basketball games on radio and television between 1975 and 1983.
Mr. McGuire served as chair of the search committee that hired Marquette's Vice President and Director of Athletics in 2011.
He has been involved in a variety of civic and charitable activities focusing on youth, athletics and coaching.
