Peggy Troy, Nurs '74, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2011. She became president and chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital and Health System, an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children, in 2009. The 12 entities that make up the health system work to improve the lives of children through care giving, advocacy, research and education.
Previously she was the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis from 2006 to 2009 where she was responsible for the strategic management of the operations of six major hospitals within the system. Prior to that, Peggy served as the president and chief executive officer of Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center and as president of Cook Children's Medical Center in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Peggy is a registered nurse. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Marquette in 1974 and a master's in nursing from DePaul University in Chicago. While attending Marquette she served as a nurse intern at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
On a national level, she currently serves as a board member for Children's Hospital Association. Locally, Peggy continues to serve on the United Way Campaign Cabinet and is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee. She recently was elected to the boards of directors of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, the Blood Center of Wisconsin, and Teach for America.
She is a member of the Marquette University President's Society.
