Whether it's preparing students for their first jobs or propelling graduate and professional students to even greater heights, a Marquette education helps students reach their full potential. But don't just take our word for it.

Marquette ranks 82nd in the 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges, released by U.S. News & World Report. The university is again among the "A+ Options for B Students" and is one of only 50 universities recognized in the "Best Value Schools" category, which relates a school’s academic quality, as indicated by its 2012 U.S. News ranking, to the 2010–11 net cost of attendance for a student who receives the average level of need-based financial aid. Marquette is ranked No. 63 by high school and private independent school guidance counselors.

In other rankings, The Princeton Review named Marquette one of the country's "Best 376 Colleges" for 2012 and listed the College of Business Administration and Graduate School of Management among its "Best 301 Business Schools" for 2010.

Additionally, the Fiske Guide to Colleges named the university a "Best Buy School," one of only 49 in its 2012 edition; Kiplinger’s Personal Finance listed it among its "Best Values in Private Colleges for 2011–12"; Washington Monthly ranked it 32nd nationally in 2010 based on its contribution to the public good; and collegesofdistinction.com recognized it for 2010–11 for its engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes.

Speaking of the public good, Marquette was the 10th higher education institution bestowed the Changemaker Campus title by the Ashoka Institute, a leader in social entrepreneurship — the practice of applying sustainable business models to solve social problems.

ATTENTION, DO-GOODERS.

Marquette is well-known for its commitment to the community — whether it's in Milwaukee or around the world. So much so that:

Washington Monthly, © 2010 Washington Monthly, http://www.WashingtonMonthly.comWashington Monthly ranked the university second nationally in the "25 Most Service-minded Schools" for 2010. The publication examined the size of Army and Navy ROTC programs; the proportion of alumni in the Peace Corps; the percentage of federal work-study money spent on community-service projects; the number of students participating in community service and total service hours; whether classes incorporate service; and if the university offers service-based scholarships.

News WeekThe fall 2010 Kaplan/ Newsweek Finding the Right College for You guide listed Marquette 11th in the "Most Service-minded Schools" category, based on Washington Monthly's rankings. To be eligible, a college needed to be listed in the Fiske Guide to Colleges, Princeton Review’s "Best 373 Colleges," or U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges; have high academic standards; and offer a range of different degrees.
