Student Health Service
Getting sick is nobody’s idea
of fun, so it’s nice to know that when you do feel lousy
there is someone nearby who can help. As a Marquette student,
you are welcome to use the Student Health Service anytime.
Make an appointment — medical staff can see you between
classes or during a study break. Diagnosis, treatment or prescription
decisions will be held in strict confidence between you and
your medical provider.
The Student Health Service offers enrolled students primary care services including:
- annual GYN exam
- minor surgery
- prescriptions (limited)
- laboratory tests
- referrals
- health education
- nutrition counseling
- TB screening
- acne care
- wart removal
- STD screening
- HIV testing and counseling
- diagnosis/treatment of illness or injury
- immunizations and allergy injections
And there is added value. Our staff of medical doctors, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and health educators specialize in the health and wellness challenges of college students.
How Much Do Services Cost?
Full-time undergraduates pay a Student Health Fee — you pay it with your tuition at the start of each term — which ensures unlimited access to the health service, plus:
- no fees for most laboratory tests done in house
- X-ray referrals and reduced fee for the outside reading
- reduced charge for prescriptions filled here and lab tests sent out
- reduced allergy injection fee
- reduced charge for immunizations
Your Student Health Fee is exclusive of any insurance coverage.
Part-time undergraduates and all graduate and professional
students can take advantage of these benefits, too, through
Marquette's low-cost student insurance program.
