The master's degree is awarded in recognition of academic accomplishment as demonstrated by a program of course work, passing of the required examinations, and the preparation of a thesis, project, or essay. Master's degrees offered by Marquette include:

 Doctoral degree program:

The doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degree is awarded in recognition of high attainment and ability in a special subject field. Candidates are required to pass examinations that cover general and specific knowledge in their area of expertise, and prepare and successfully defend a dissertation based on original research that makes a significant contribution to the field. Doctoral degrees offered by Marquette include:

Ed.D.

Doctor of Education

Ph.D.

Doctor of Philosophy

Certificate programs:

A certificate acknowledges the successful completion of a group of classes taken at the graduate level. Depending on the specific requirements of the various certificate programs offered by Marquette, students must have a bachelor's or master's degree to be considered for admission.

 

School of Dentistry

The School of Dentistry offers a four-year program composed of classroom education, laboratory instruction and clinical practice leading to the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Graduate specializations include:

Endodontics
Orthodontics
Dental Materials
Fixed ant Removable Prosthodontics (combined program)
Pediatric Dentistry (with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin)

DDS PLUS: Offered to select Senior dental students. The program offers the opportunity to complete credits in master's level courses in dental specialties or other Marquette University graduate studies at no additional cost.

 

College of Health Sciences

Graduate and professional degrees offered by the College of Health Sciences include:

M.P.A.

Master of Physician Assistant

M.P.T.

Master of Physical Therapy

 

Law School

Marquette offers both full-time and part-time programs leading to the Juris Doctor (J.D) degree.
