ERYN M. DOHERTY, ARTS '91, LAW '00ERYN M. DOHERTY, ARTS '91, LAW '00
Santa Monica, Calif.

Growing up in Massachusetts, Eryn loved sports, enjoyed movies and television, and wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps as a lawyer. She never imagined that her law degree and love of sports would land her in Los Angeles, the entertainment capitol of the world, working for major studios.

At Marquette, Eryn married her passion for sports with her study of law, ultimately receiving a certificate in sports law from the National Sports Law Institute. Eryn pursued a career in traditional labor law because most, if not all, of professional sports is organized, and she thought it could lead to a career in the sports industry. She worked as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Milwaukee and Boston before joining Fox Entertainment Group as senior attorney for labor relations. While at Fox, she represented several sports broadcasting and cable entities. She then moved to Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she is assistant general counsel/executive director labor relations.

At Marquette, Eryn received several awards, including the Joseph E. Tierney, Jr,. Award for the highest GPA in the sports law program, and served as editor-in-chief of the Marquette Sports Law Journal. She continues to support the Law School by serving on the Board of Advisors of the NSLI and the Marquette Sports Law Review Editors Alumni Board and is a member of the NSLI Alumni Association.

Eryn also finds time to compete in triathlons, marathons and half-marathons. She volunteers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and its Team in Training Program and works with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater
Los Angeles.
