Janice MorelandJanice Robinson Moreland, Med Tech '80
Las Vegas

Janice is characterized by those who know her as a caring and selfless person — traits she attributes to her Marquette experience and her own personal formula for success.

“Success is achieving a goal with a sense of accomplishment, not just for myself, but for others,” she says. “I want to be a blessing to others, and my experience at Marquette definitely laid that foundation.”

Janice’s career is defined by her willingness to help others, including those under adverse conditions and circumstances. In her work at the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin in the early to mid-1980s, she managed some of the earliest HIV testing in the city.

She was also responsible for setting up and managing certified lab testing for one of the first private methadone clinics in the central city of Milwaukee, and she managed several laboratories and clinics to serve the central city population.

For the past 25 years, Janice has worked with Dr. James Flowers, operating an MCAT test preparation service that prepares students — primarily minority medical students at historically black colleges and universities throughout the United States — for a career in medicine.

“I love speaking with students,” she says. “I love providing direction and advising them as they prepare for the test that is a major factor in achieving their life’s goals.”
