Joseph J. Zilber, Bus Ad ’39, Law ’41
|

Nobody did real estate deals like Joe Zilber. Nobody. He managed Zilber, Ltd., the multimillion dollar empire he created until his March 2010 death, continually looking for new opportunities, in good times and bad. And nobody supported worthy causes like Joe. Fifty million dollars to rebuild Milwaukee neighborhoods. Thirty million dollars to help develop the new Marquette Law School. Millions more to other good works. An extraordinary exemplar. Read more

friend of the university Award
Nearly 70 years ago, entrepreneur Arthur J. Schmitt dedicated his wealth to educating the next generation of ethical business leaders, first by establishing the Fournier Institute of Technology and, later, Arthur J. Schmitt Scholarships and Fellowships for students at five Midwestern universities. More than a quarter of Marquette doctoral students since 1963 have benefited from Schmitt and his foundation’s generosity. |
