After leaving the Marines and getting his MBA, John worked for a number of consumer products companies. Today he is CEO of Hickory Farms, Inc.

The Hon. Gwendolynne S. Moore, Arts ’78

Gwen grew up just blocks from Marquette. After graduation, she helped establish a credit union for redlined Milwaukee residents. In 2004, she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

   
Kitty Alaily

entrepreneur of the year Award

Kitty Huebner Alaily, Master of Arts ’72

Kitty and her husband, who have lived in Sweden and Saudi Arabia, own 34 Cost Cutters and four Supercuts salons throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

   
John Pfefferle

A Person for Others Award

John E. Pfefferle, Arts ’66

Considered the most prominent developer and manager of commercial real estate in Appleton’s center business district, John also serves on a number of boards.

   
Garrett Zuercher

Young Alumnus Award

Garrett M. Zuercher, Arts ’03

The first deaf student to graduate from Marquette in a full hearing program, Garrett did so with honors. Today he is a working actor and an award-winning playwright.
