Larry B. Brueggeman, Law ’69

Larry BrueggemanLarry B. Brueggeman is president-elect of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and former president of the Marquette University Law Alumni Association and Wisconsin Association for Justice. He is a longtime member of the Marquette Law School Advisory Board and Woolsack Society and has been chairman of the State Bar Committee on Legal Education and Bar Admissions. He has received several awards during his career and been a speaker at the Marquette Law School on several occasions.

“My long-term professional plan was to become a competent, caring plaintiff’s personal-injury lawyer,” says Larry, president of Milwaukee law firm Previant, Goldberg, Uelmen, Gratz, Miller & Brueggeman, S.C. “I started out in litigation, where I have remained to this day.”

Larry began his career as an idealistic young lawyer seeking to right wrongs and help the helpless. And he never lost that idealism.

“I do trial work feeling that, every time I walk out of the courtroom, I have participated in the greatest system of justice on earth,” he says.

Larry also has participated in the evolution of Marquette’s Law School, which, he says, has gone from “respectable institution to superb institution.”

He says, “To the extent I may have contributed a small part to that evolution, I am very proud.” Attending Marquette, he adds, “was one of the best decisions made in planning my professional career.”
