Gregory B. Conway, Arts ’66, Law ’70

Gregory Conway

It’s quite likely you have seen or heard Greg Conway’s name somewhere — after all, this Green Bay-area attorney is here, there and everywhere.

Where to begin? Let’s start with a recent honor. Greg, who specializes in corporate law and litigation, was named a “Wisconsin Super Lawyer” by Milwaukee Magazine and one of the “Top 50 Super Lawyers in Wisconsin.” He also made news in Town and Country magazine and has consistently been named each year in a separate publication, The Best Lawyers in America.

Then there are his lecturing capabilities. You’ll find him in classrooms at both of Wisconsin’s law schools and at various advanced seminars in professional education.

Want to read his work? You can. He’s been published in several legal journals and recently authored a book chapter.

In addition to a thriving practice, Greg still finds time to accept commission and board appointments, such as serving on the U.S. Senators’ Federal Nominating Commission to make recommendations on possible federal judges in Wisconsin and actively participating in professional organizations, such as the American Board of Trial Advocates, for which he served as state chairman.

And here’s an interesting fact: Greg is admitted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, an organization whose members are by invitation only and represent only one percent of the trial attorneys in the country. For two years, Greg was the state chairman.

In 1985, Greg was elected by his peers as president of the 22,000-member Wisconsin State Bar Association, making history by being the youngest person elected to that post.

Greg has performed legal work pro bono for the Green Bay Community Shelter and remains involved with Marquette by helping organize and emcee fundraising events.

What’s next? Greg says he’ll wind down his practice at some point and hopefully teach, probably a class on the history of the jury trial.
