James R. Imhoff, Jr., BUS AD '66
No
discussion about real estate in Wisconsin is complete without
the mention of Jim Imhoff's name. Jim is the chairman and CEO
of First Weber Group. With 45 offices, 1,400 employees and $3
billion in annual sales, First Weber is the largest real estate
firm in the state.
And Jim is a giant in the profession.
He is a past president of the Wisconsin Realtors Association
and was honored as Wisconsin's "Realtor of the Year" in
1993. He was appointed by Governor Tommy Thompson to the Real
Estate Board of the Department of Regulation and Licensing and
served as chairman from 1995–2002. Jim's leadership
is sought nationally, too. He served as director for the National
Association of Realtors and as chairman of the Realtors National
Political Action Committee in 2001.
Jim also serves as
a director at the University of Wisconsin School of Business;
the Center for Urban Land Economics Research; the Park Bank;
the Mosaic Mutual Funds; Madison Claymore Covered Call Option
Fund (NYSE); and Madison Strategic Sector Premium Fund (NYSE).
He is on the board of directors of the Madison Chamber of Commerce
and chairs its public policy committee.
As if all this
were not enough, Jim is an ardent supporter of his alma mater.
He’s a member of the Bell Chair in Real Estate Advisory
Board, chair of his class reunion, active in the university’s
outreach efforts in Madison and the first graduate to ever fund
a scholarship for students studying real estate.
He is
also the proud father of two children who live in the Madison
area and has two grandchildren.
