Carita Twinem thrives on change.
“What I like best about the work I do is the variety,” says Carita, treasurer for Briggs and Stratton Corporation, one of the world’s largest producers of air-cooled gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment. “My job doesn’t change year to year, but minute to minute.”
Carita received her Juris Doctor from University of Wisconsin, her Master of Law degree from New York University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University. But it was a scholarship at Marquette that first opened the door to her education.
“Marquette gave me both the technical expertise I’ve needed throughout my career, as well as a broad, liberal arts background,” she says. “I believe the strong emphasis on ethical behavior is a good foundation for anyone in the business world today. Just as important were the great friends I made and the social graces I learned.”
Carita also serves on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Girl Scouts of America and the Executive Committee for the Tax Executives Institute.
