Annual AMU Student Employee of the Year Reception
Every April the Alumni Memorial Union hosts the AMU Student Employee of the Year Reception honoring a student from each of the 18 departments who receives that title for their area. This year's event was held on Wednesday, April 17 in the Annex court and the following students received the award for their department:

- Annex Restaurant - Grady Glynn
- Bowling - Kyle Hicks
- Brew Cafes - Drew Brown & Peter Ciolino
- Brooks Lounge - Josh Jacquet
- Building Staff - Chris Avallone & Kierstyn Robbins
- Catering - Ashley Stoltz
- Concessions - Jacqueline Barajas
- Event Management - Rebecca Galvan
- Event Support Staff - Autumn Almonte
- Lunda Room - Amy Gahl
- Marketing - Jorie Struck
- Marquette Place - Sam Manka
- Security - Daniel Erato
- Tech Staff - Jason Laqua
- Tory Hill Cafe - Kelly Meyerhofer
- University Information Center - Kyle Hicks
- Union Station - Andrew Valiquette
The event also included the announcement of the 2012-13 AMU Student Manager of the Year. This year's recipient was Kersten Leahy, Tory Hill Cafe student manager.
Additionally, the top three departments in the AMU Battle of the Departments, a year long competition, were named:
- 1st place = University Information Center
- 2nd place = Marketing
- 3rd place = Tech Staff
