Congressman Jerry Kleczka Internship Program
Is traveling to Washington, D.C., not an option for you? But you're interested in city, county and state public policy? Then the Kleczka Internship Program is perfect for you.
Housed on Marquette's campus in Milwaukee, the Kleczka program places you in local legislative offices. The internship is open to any eligible college student studying any major. In fact, we'll help tailor your experience to your interests.
And just like the successful academic model of the Les Aspin Center for Government, the Kleczka internship program combines hands-on internship experiences with classroom instruction to maximize learning opportunities.
The first local initiative of the Les Aspin Center for Government was inspired by the desire of retired U.S. Congressman Jerry Kleczka to mentor students to become community leaders in Wisconsin.
Who should apply?
The program is open to all Marquette students who meet the following requirements:
- a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- sophomore standing or higher
- demonstrated financial need; applicants are asked to provide a written explanation of financial need.
