Interim Director of Assessment - Andrew Hirsh

Andrew is thrilled to be serving as the Interim Assessment Director at Marquette University.  He returns to the Office of Assessment, having previously served as the Graduate Assistant for Assessment. Andrew is passionate about student-centered learning and supporting student development through differentiated and inclusive practices. 

He is simultaneously teaching and working as an Internship Outreach Coordinator at UW-Milwaukee and has previous experience as an Area Director in residence life at Carroll University. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys playing tennis and volleyball, practicing his percussion instruments, and being an avid basketball fan!

Among Other Roles, the Staff of the Office of Assessment:

  • Consults with faculty and staff developing and implementing assessment plans and reports. This includes writing effective student learning outcomes and choosing appropriate strategies and measures.
  • Provides guidance as needed with analyzing, reporting and disseminating assessment results.
  • Provides assessment resources and delivers workshops on topics relevant to assessment.
  • Promotes best practices in assessment.
  • Supports assessment of the integrated core learning outcomes, knowledge area outcomes and institutional undergraduate learning outcomes.
  • As part of the Institutional Survey Committee, oversees the development, coordination and administration of campuswide surveys of broad institutional scope.
  • Assists with writing and implementing evaluation components for externally funded projects.
  • Assists with survey design, focus group preparation and data analysis for special projects.
  • Acts as an assessment resource to the university community for accreditation, strategic planning and program review.
