The Division of Student Affairs honored 75 students at a banquet Saturday, April 16. The awards recognized students and student groups in the areas of diversity; community service; peer education; recreation, health and wellness; social and arts programming; spiritual development and justice education; and student governance and organization leadership.
Biomedical Sciences senior, Shazia Ali, received the Rev. Andrew J. Thon, S.J., Vice President's Award for Distinguished Leadership, Scholarship, and Service, the highest honor bestowed upon a student by Student Affairs.
UPDATE: Shazia Ali was also awarded the Robin Curtis Award for Outstanding Leadership on May 22, 2011 at the Biomedical Sciences Graduation Ceremony.
Starting this summer, she will spend the next year traveling as a Tony Blair Faith Acts International Fellow to serve as an interfaith ambassador for the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
