Ramadan Mubarak

HAPPY RAMADAN!

As we approach the last half of the Spring 2024 semester, Muslim members of the Marquette community have started their observance of the holy month of Ramadan. The month of Ramadan celebrates the revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad from God through the Angel Gabriel. This year the month of Ramadan begins on Sunday, March 10. To all Muslim members of the Marquette community, have a blessed Ramadan and best wishes for this special period of spiritual transformation. Ramadan Mubarak!

On Tuesday, April 9, Muslims will begin to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, a three day celebration marking the end of Ramadan, the holiest month of the year for Muslims.

Healthy adult Muslims fast in observance of the month from dawn to sunset and break their fasts with their families and congregations in a communal meal. Fasting requires abstention from food, drink, and sexual pleasures throughout the day.

Sameer Ali, Muslim Chaplain, is available to provide emotional and spiritual support to students.  Learn more about Marquette’s Muslim Student Association.
