Mission Statement

The goal of our life is to live with God forever. God, who loves us, gave us life. Our own response of love allows Godís life to flow into us without limit.
(St. Ignatius of Loyola, as paraphrased by David L. Fleming, S.J.)

We are a community of pilgrims, ecclesial ministers and students alike, responding to the Good News of Jesus as joyful stewards of all Godís creation. Rooted in the Catholic tradition and inspired by the life and charism of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we work to meet the diverse spiritual needs and interests of Marquette Universityís campus community. We serve with colleagues in the Office of Mission and Ministry, the Faber Center for Ignatian Spirituality, the Division of Student Affairs, the Society of Jesus, and faculty to engage the dialogue of faith.

We, as campus ministers, invite students to encounter God in their everyday lives. In a fragile, fragmented world, we strive to form students to live with conscience and courage.

With partners of goodwill on campus, in Milwaukee and across the world, we engage students through retreats, works of justice, worship, reflection, interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural immersion. Through these programs and the ministry of presence and pastoral care, Campus Ministry provides witness to the love of Christ.
