Small Ensembles
There are many small ensemble opportunities available both on Sundays and during the week for instrumentalists and singers. There are Sunday evening Masses in the Chapel of the Holy Family at 8:00p.m. and 10:00 p.m. as well as weekday 10:00 p.m. Masses in the Joan of Arc Chapel Monday through Thursday. All of these groups meet one hour prior to the liturgy to rehearse and are student-led. Instrumentation includes, but is not limited to: piano, acoustic and bass guitar, flute, violin, clarinet, brass instruments, and percussion. Those interested in playing for any of these Masses should contact Tom Koester, Director of Music in Campus Ministry, via e-mail or (414) 288-3695. Students are asked to play for the director and, although they may contact the director at any time during the year, they are strongly encouraged to do so the first week of classes so that Mass assignments can be arranged for the semester.
Student cantors are assigned for all small ensemble Masses. All vocalists who are not cantors are welcome to sing with any small ensemble on a given week by attending the rehearsal the hour prior to the liturgy. Commitment to doing so every week is not required, but it is encouraged.
