RESEARCH INTERESTS
Stephen studies the use of computer technology and its application in theatre, as a design tool, as a medium to project and create scenic elements in productions and as a mode for presentation on the web. He worked as a computer modeler and general factotum on the i.e. VR productions of "Tesla” and “Wings" at the University of Kansas. Stephen has continued to explore the use of computers in the design and implementation of theatrical productions, including the computer generated and animated scenery for Marquette’s production of
The Fir Tree, the Virtual Reality production of The Magic Flute at the University of Kansas in April of 2003, and the computer generated scenery for Marquette’s 2004 production of The Memorandum.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Stephen has designed sets, lights, and costumes and directed productions at the middle school, high school, and university level for the last 11 years. Stephen has taught at Earlham College in Richmond Indiana and Augusta State University in Augusta Georgia. During this time, he has also studied the use of computer technology and its application in theatre, as a design tool, as a medium to project and create scenic elements in productions and as a mode for presentation on the web. He worked as a computer modeler and general factotum on the i.e. VR productions of "Tesla" and "Wings" at the University of Kansas. Since leaving KU, Stephen has continued to explore the use of computers in the design and implementation of theatrical productions.
Stephen is involved in the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, the only professional organization in the US for theatre designers and technicians. He is also active in the KCACTF Region III, having served as the festival co-host in 2001, and currently acting as the regional webmaster. In 1998, Stephen was chosen as a Barbizon design award nominee for the KCACTF Region V festival, where his designs for Bus Stop were displayed.
