Here's what you should do:
- Get an application from your high school or download it.
- Fill out the application.
- Provide a transcript of your high school work.
- Write a 150-word essay explaining your interest in the workshop.
- Provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
- Send along any writing samples, including news stories, term papers or short stories.
- Fill out a form from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction if you receive free or reduced lunch. This form
is important.
- Await word from the workshop board on whether you've been accepted. You should hear from the board by the end of May.
Urban Journalism Workshop Fee $350
- Scholarships available for Wisconsin students who meet the Department of Public Instruction income eligibility guidelines.
