Office Hours, appointments, DROP-Ins, and Contact info

Academic Year
  1. Office Hours: Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m
  2. Drop-In Hours: Monday through Friday: 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

Summer Break:

  1. Office Hours: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  2. Drop-In Hours: There are no drop-in hours scheduled during break

Winter Break:

  1. Office Hours: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. when university is open
  2. Drop-In Hours: There are no drop-in hours scheduled during break
  3. The University is closed Christmas Eve through New Year's Day. Please confirm all-university closings here.


This 10-15 minute meeting with a career intern is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Possible topics to discuss with a career intern include an overview of the Career Services Center, a brief resume or cover letter critique, a brief practice interview, or questions about Handshake. Additional topics may be best covered in an appointment with a career counselor.


Students meet with a career counselor to discuss the career issues of their choice. The counselor will likely ask about personal and career background, interests, coursework, and related aspects that effect career decision making to ensure a good understanding of the student’s unique situation.  Resources may be discussed along with next steps that may include taking a career assessment.

  1. All services are offered to current students and alumni. Non-students and those who did not graduate from MU may find assistance through our community resources.

  3. You may schedule an appointment online or by calling 414-288-7423 during business hours.

Scheduling an Appointment Online

  1. Log in to your Handshake Account by going to https://marquette.joinhandshake.com
  2. Click on the Handshake logo in the top left corner which will take you to the student dashboard
  3. Click Appointments on the left hand navigation bar
  4. You will see the option to pick a category and type of appointment
    1. ​Select the category and type of appointment you are interested in scheduling
  5. ​You will be taken to the next available appointment times once you have selected an appointment category and type
  6. Click on a time that works for you or click on staff member to see the availability of different staff members
  7. Enter details about the appointment in the What can we help you with? section and then click Request at the bottom of the screen. You will be taken to the overview of the appointment where you can cancel the appointment or add comments before the appointment. ​
  8. Make sure that you check your notifications for updates to the status of your appointment
