Because students can take quizzes anywhere, they are generally self-assessment only. To ensure the validity and security of a quiz, administer it in a proctored computer lab.
Yes, if the student saved the answers. If answers are not saved, they are lost. The student can exit Desire2Learn and when he/she returns the quiz questions that were saved will appear with the student's answers. When finished with the quiz, he/she must click SUBMIT QUIZ in order for the scores to be recorded.
Yes. All attempts are recorded and the score is sent to the gradebook if linked. However, the instructor has the option of choosing the highest attempt, the lowest attempt, the average of all attempts, the first attempt, or the last attempt. The instructor sets this option at their discretion. Once the preference is set, Desire2Learn will only record the attempt the instructor specifies.
Yes. An instructor, however, is allowed to take the assessment multiple times, even if that option is disabled for the students.
Yes. However, in order to change the quiz availability or the quiz settings, the quiz availability must be turned off. When that is done, all scores currently recorded are lost. In order to turn off the availability without losing the scores, you need to change the date and time release of the announcements and the link to the quiz.
