Creating Topics with QuickLink

QuickLink allows you to link to a course file or another area within your course. Creating a topic with QuickLink also allows you to link relevant course material to its appropriate section in the Course Content page. This is beneficial to the student because it eliminates the need to leave the Course Content page for materials pertinent to the chosen section. For example, you can create a link to a quiz directly from the Course Content page, rather than having the student search for the correct quiz from QUIZZES on the Navigation bar.

1. From the Course Home page, on the Navigation bar, click CONTENT.

2. From the Administration section, click NEW TOPIC.
   The New Topic dialog box appears.

3. Click CREATE NEW FILE.

4. From the Parent Module pull-down list, select the module this topic will appear under.
   

5. In the Title text box, type the desired title.
   

6. Click QUICKLINK.
   The Insert a QuickLink dialog box appears.
   
   
   
   

7.   From the Category pull-down list, select a category.
     The screen is refreshed with options appropriate to your selection.
   
   

8. Use the down arrow under Link Details to select Content..

9. Click INSERT.
   The New Topic - Create New File dialog box appears.
   

10. Click SAVE.
    OR
    To save the topic and create another, click SAVE & NEW.
