Working with the DropboxFor Students

The Dropbox is used when electronic files are to be submitted as part of the assignment. It allows the students to turn in their digital assignments and to retrieve the graded files. Also, the student is allowed to view feedback from the instructor and to see a list of submitted files in the folder(s).

Turn in assignment(s) in the appropriate folder by following these steps.

  1. From the Course Home page, on the Navigation bar, click DROPBOX.
    The Dropbox Folders dialog box appears.

  2. Click the name of the folder for your assignment(s).
    The Folder Submissions dialog box appears.

  3. Click ADD A FILE.  The Submit a File dialog box appears.

  4. In the text box, type the path of the attachment.
    OR
    To select the file:
    1.   Click BROWSE...
         The Choose file dialog box appears.
    2.   Using the Look in pull-down list, locate and select the file.
    3. Click OPEN.
  5. OPTIONAL: To leave a comment about this file, in the Description text box, type your message.

  6. When finished, click UPLOAD.
    The Results dialog box appears.

  7. OPTIONAL: To upload another file, click UPLOAD MORE FILES and repeat steps 3-6.

  8. When uploading is completed, click DONE.
    The Folder List dialog box appears.

View all the files that have been submitted to the instructor in the student Dropbox.

  1. From the Course Home page, on the Navigation bar, click DROPBOX.
    The Dropbox Folders dialog box appears.

  2. Click HISTORY.
    The Dropbox Dropoff History dialog box appears.
    NOTES:
    A list of submitted files appears in each folder.
    The icon indicates the file has not yet been downloaded by the instructor.
    The icon indicates the file has been downloaded by the instructor.

  3. OPTIONAL: To download a copy of a submitted file:
    1.   Click the link of the file you wish to download under Submissions.
         The File Download dialog box appears.
    2. To open the file from its location, click OPEN.

  4. OPTIONAL: To save the file:
    1. Click SAVE.
      The Save As dialog box appears.
    2. Navigate to the desired save location.
    3. Click SAVE.
    4. Locate and open the file.

  5. When done, click BACK.

View feedback from the instructor(s) by following these steps.

  1. From the Course Home page, on the Navigation bar, click DROPBOX.
    The Dropbox Folders dialog box appears.

  2. In the desired folder's row, click VIEW under Feedback.
    The View Feedback dialog box appears.
    NOTES: You can view the feedback only if the View icon appears in the Feedback column.

  3. When finished, click BACK.
    The Dropbox Folders dialog box appears.
