How to Become a General Clinic Patient

Dental care in the general clinic is provided by pre-doctoral students under the supervision of licensed faculty dentists and dental hygienist. Prospective patients are required to have a screening appointment to determine if their needs are suitable for treatment by a dental student.

Getting on the Screening Appointment List

We are not accepting any registrations through the web site at this time. You may add your name to the waiting list through our on-line form starting July 8, 2013. When you register, your name will be put on a list. Once an opening becomes available, a registration attendant will call you back to schedule an appointment. Your name will remain on our list until an appointment is scheduled, or two attempts have been made to schedule a time.

The Screening Exam

At your first appointment a screening examination will determine your dental needs, and whether the clinic will be able to provide dental services. A screening appointment does not guarantee that you will be accepted as a patient.  If we do accept you as a patient, we will schedule you for any necessary x-rays, and you will then be assigned to a student dentist, who will do a complete dental examination and work out a specific treatment plan that best suits your needs.

Scheduling Appointments

Appointments for treatment are arranged with your assigned student and generally begin at the start of the morning and/or afternoon clinic session. Your appointment will last three to four hours on average.  If you are already a patient in one of our Pre-Doc clinics and would like to schedule an appointment, please call the correct phone number listed below.

Practice A (Groups 1 & 2) (414) 288-3703
Practice B (Groups 3 & 4) (414) 288-7151
Practice C (Groups 5 & 6) (414) 288-5254
Practice D (Groups 7 & 8) (414) 288-3544

Cancellations

If you must cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice by calling your dental student or his/her coordinator.
