Behavior Clinic Awarded $25K from Greater Milwaukee Foundation

Released: 9/25/09

The Behavior Clinic has been awarded a grant of $25,000 from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. Grant funds will be used to hire a Spanish-speaking paraprofessional to assist family counselors in their interactions with families who only speak Spanish.

"Due to our limited access to personnel who can serve as translators for our Spanish speaking families, we routinely have up to ten of these families on a waiting list for clinic services," said Clinic Director, Dr. Robert Fox. "This funding will make a real difference in the services we can provide to Spanish speaking families."

The Behavior Clinic offers free mental health services for children who are experiencing significant behavior and emotional problems. The operating expenses for the Behavior Clinic are underwritten entirely by charitable donations from foundations, corporations, individuals in the community, and state funded grants.
