Dr. Victoria Fitzgerald Joins the COED as Assistant Dean

Victoria FitzgeraldThe College of Education is pleased to welcome Dr. Victoria Fitzgerald as the Assistant Dean for College Operations. 

Dr. Fitzgerald received her Ph.D. in education from the University of Iowa, an M.A. in Theatre from Illinois State University, and a B.F.A. in theatre from Quincy University.  She has over 20 years of experience in academic administration—most recently as Dean of Instruction and Student Learning at Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois. 

Dr. Fitzgerald's professional background includes leadership for faculty and curricula in college transfer and career-based programs; new program development; grant writing and management; distance education; international programs; and assessment of student learning.  Victoria serves the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association as an AQIP Peer Reviewer and has been a CQIN National Educational Examiner.  Additionally, she has taught over 15 years in the disciplines of English, reading, theatre, speech, and communications in public and private K-12 and post-secondary institutions.  Victoria also holds current teaching licensure (6-12) in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa.  

As Assistant Dean, Victoria will assist the Dean with work related to the internal and external welfare of the College. This includes acting as College representative and liaison, report writing, oversight of various events, projects, and initiatives, and support for long-range planning.
