COED Alumnus, Dr. Jeff Janz, Assumes MU Student Affairs Leadership Role

Dr. Jeff C. Janz, College of Education Alumnus, has been named Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Marquette University. His appointment will take effect October 1, 2009.

Dr. Janz returns to Marquette with over 32 years of experience in student affairs, housing and residence life management. He served as the Executive Director of Residence Life at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for over 17 years before he took his most recent position as Dean of Student Life. During his tenure at UW-Whitewater, Dr. Janz provided leadership for a program housing nearly 4,000 students and over 300 full- and part-time staff members. He also led a comprehensive residential master planning effort on campus which resulted in a long range construction and capital plan.Dr. Janz has also held administrative positions at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Wisconsin Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

In addition to his administrative duties, Jeff has also played an active role as a faculty member. For many years, he served as an instructor in the Marquette University college student personnel administration program. He took an active role in establishing a successful learning community program at UW-Whitewater, where he also taught marketing fundamentals and organizational behavior to business majors.
