The program, which was implemented by the ACPA Senior Scholars in 1999, aims to honor promising new faculty and practitioner scholars who are seen to have particular potential in contributing to scholarship in student affairs and higher education. Emerging Scholars commit to ongoing research and attendance at two consecutive ACPA conferences, as well as participation in a half-day research institute with Senior Scholars.
"The Emerging Scholars program will enable me to connect with Senior Scholars and other Emerging Scholars to cultivate and advance research ideas, discuss vexing research issues, and to collaborate on research," says Jessup-Anger "I believe the program will also deepen my knowledge and understanding of professional preparation in student affairs, which ultimately with help to strengthen the College Student Personnel program at Marquette."
The American College Personnel Association (ACPA) is the leading comprehensive student affairs association that advances student affairs and engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery.
