COEP Sponsors 10th Annual Research Exchange

Released: 3/3/08

On Friday, March 28, 2008 the Marquette University Counseling and Educational Psychology Graduate Student Organization (GSO) will hold its 10th Annual Mini-Conference and Research Exchange in the Alumni Memorial Union. This conference provides a collegial setting that allows graduate students or faculty members from the Marquette School of Education to share their work via paper, poster session, or symposium/panel discussion.

This year Dr. David Baker, Director of the Archives of the History of American Psychology at the University of Akron, will serve as keynote speaker for the event. His address is entitled “The History of Social Justice in Counseling Psychology.” Dr. Baker teaches the history of psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and his research centers on the rise of professional psychology in America during the 20th century.

To further promote the sharing of knowledge within the greater academic community, an invitation to participate has been extended to the students and faculty of Marquette’s Department of Educational Policy and Leadership and Psychology Department. UW-Milwaukee’s Counseling and Educational Psychology and Clinical Psychology departments have also been invited to attend the Conference.
