Released: 5/11/06
Michael B. Madson, a 2005 Ph.D. graduate in counseling psychology and Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, was selected as the recipient of the 2006 Faculty Senate and Office of the President Award for Junior Faculty Research. This award is given to recognize a faculty member’s excellence in research during the academic year.
Madson’s current work deals with the evaluation of evidence-based practice in the clinical supervision of mental health professionals. This work, published in a prominent American Psychological Association journal, stems from his doctoral work under the direction of Dr. Todd Campbell and has received both national and international acclaim. In addition, Madson has had numerous other articles accepted for publication, including work based on a project completed under the direction of Dr. Alan Burkard at Marquette, and an article he completed while on hiatus during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
