College of Education Mourns the Loss of Dr. Frank Steeves

The School of Education mourns the loss of colleague and friend, Dr. Frank L. Steeves, who was born to Eternal Life on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the age of 86.
Dr. Steeves, the first Dean of the School of Education, taught at Marquette University for over twenty years. The author of six books and many articles on teacher education, he was recognized for his expertise on curriculum in secondary education. During his tenure at Marquette, he served as President of Phi Delta Kappa and President of the School Masters Association of Wisconsin.
Dr. Steeves is survived by his wife, Louise; his sister, Laura Stanton; his daughter, Helen Leslie Steeves; his sons, Frank Lloyd Steeves and Vincent Michael Steeves; his brother-in-law, Dan Reece; his grandchildren, Carolyn, Andrew, Fekerte, Anna and his many close friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The visitation will be followed by an Elks Lodge of Sorrow service at 5:30 p.m. and a Mass at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's name may be made to St. Mary Food Pantry, National Alliance on Mental Illness of Waukesha, or the Elks Lodge BPOE 2301.
