Heath Brozovich

Heath Brozovich, B.S. Civil Engineering

Heath received the 2012-2013 GRAEF scholarship from the AFE Milwaukee Chapter 12. This scholarship is awarded to an engineering student who demonstrates a prominent grade point average, exceptional community service, and demonstrates motivation/perseverance and life experiences that will encourage the pursuit of an engineering career. This scholarship provided an additional $2,500 in financial aid for Heath to continue his 5th year at Marquette, studying his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.

Heath became interested in engineering from a young age, stating his favorite toy as a child was Legos; building and taking apart his Lego creations. In high school, Heath participated in Project Lead the Way, part of the STEM Education Curriculum for Middle and High School students in the state of Wisconsin. This introduced Heath to engineering projects, engineers, and technology that first captured his attention.

Since his time at Marquette, Heath has participated in ASCE, the steel bridge competition, and the concrete canoe competition. He also works in the youth ministry department at his home church, St. Anthony's in Pewaukee. He has completed three semesters of Co-op experience at the City of West Allis surveying, inspecting, and designing sewer systems closely with other engineers in the city. He also completed one semester of Co-op with WISDOT inspecting bridges and culverts in the Milwaukee area. The most enjoyable part of the time he spent as a Co-op student was understanding what he likes and dislikes about civil engineering to better prepare himself for a career after Marquette and sharing the experience with his friends and hearing what they did during their Co-op terms as well.
