Research Interests:
Electronic and Electric Machine and Drive Systems, Electromagnetics, and Intelligent Systems Applications.
Current Research:
Electronic and machine drive systems design and analysis. Electromagnetic field modeling using computational techniques in electrical devices and coupled systems. This includes design optimization and synthesis of electromagnetic devices using intelligent system techniques such as Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, and Fuzzy Systems.

Awards & Membership in Honorary and Scientific Societies:
Recipient of the 1996 Memorial Award of Milwaukee Section of IEEE for contributions to the state of art of computer-aided design and simulation of electric machines and drives.
Recipient of the IEEE Power Engineering Award as the Conference Chairman of the First IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference, IEMDC, for contributions to the advancement of the goals of the IEEE Power Engineering Society in the management of the IEEE IEMDC’97, Milwaukee WI May 18-21, 1997.
Recipient of the IEEE Power Engineering Award as the Chairman of the Technical Program Committee of the First IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference, IEMDC, contributions to the advancement of the goals of the IEEE Power Engineering Society in the management of the IEEE IEMDC’97, Milwaukee WI May 18-21, 1997.
