Dr. Chung Hoon Lee is our newest department faculty member.
After receiving his Ph.D. from UW Madison, he has held a postdoc position at Cornell and had industry experience at Veeco Instruments in Santa Barbara, CA. He comes to us from Cal State, Fresno. He has 3 active research projects funded by federal government and industry. His area of expertise is in micro- and nano-electro-mechanical systems. |
| For the second year in a row, Marquette Chapter of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society for Electrical and Computer Engineering is a recipient of the National Outstanding Chapter Award. This award is conferred upon only a handful of student chapters each year and judging is based on impact of the activities of service to others. |
| Our student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) received the two top prizes at the Milwaukee section IEEE Student Poster Night. Judging was done by IEEE members in industry. 1st Place: e-LIMO team headed by Derek Heiserand Greg Novak. 2nd Place: Remote Power Control for Embedded XINU led by Diane Dechene and Zachary Lund. |
| The Marquette student chapter of the IEEE placed first in the Region 4 IEEE Student Ethics Competition at Northern Illinois University. The Marquette team was led by Diane Dechene. This student competition was developed to encourage the study and awareness of professional ethics. |
Dr. Ed Yaz, was the General Chair of the International Conference on Circuits and Systems, which was held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in August. Drs. Michael Johnson and Susan Schneider both from EECE served on the International Program Committee. Dr. Tony Michel, a 3-time EECE alum and Engineering Dean Emeritus at the University of Notre Dame, was the keynote speaker.

The National Science Foundation awarded a grant of $659,975 to
Marquette University for support of the project entitled "Use of Novel Excitation Schemes for Resonant Micro-cantilevers in Liquid-Phase Sensing Applications," PI: Dr. Fabien Josse, EECE, Co-PIs; Prof. Oliver Brand from Georgia Tech and Dr. Stephen M. Heinrich Civil and Environmental Engineering. This award is effective September 1, 2008 - August 31, 2011. |
EECE Colloquium Series
All lectures are held at 3 p.m. on selected Tuesdays in Room 202 of the College of Engineering, Olin Engineering Center, 1515 W.
