Transportation Research Center
The Transportation Research Center was established to conduct research, perform testing, and provide training in the areas of highway maintenance and operations, traffic engineering, highway pavements, materials, and construction. Research is conducted in the following areas: Traffic Engineering, Traffic Control Devices, Traffic Safety, Highway Snow and Ice Control, Highway Design, Highway Materials, Highway Pavements, Concrete and Asphalt Technology, Highway Structures, Non-Destructive Pavement Testing, and Pavement Drainage Systems. Materials testing is available for most highway materials, including asphalt, concrete, steel, wood, and aggregates. Marquette has well equipped laboratories in structures, asphalt, concrete and soils/aggregates, and an environmental service lab.
Credit and non-credit course work and seminars are provided in highway planning and design, transportation demand management, traffic engineering, pavement and bridge design, asphalt concrete and aggregate materials, and public works administration.
