My primary teaching includes composition, British literature, and genre studies, and my courses often consider how issues related to aesthetics affect our reading of literature. My research explores the relationship between material culture and the Christian tradition. In particular, I explore the intersection of Reformation theology, specifically Lutheran theology and the works of William Shakespeare, John Donne, George Herbert and John Milton.
