Our programs range from recruitment efforts at local middle schools to retention of students enrolled in professional programs at Marquette.
Summer Debate Institute
The Marquette University Debate Institute gives students the best opportunity for topic research and skill advancement in the state of Wisconsin. Through proven theory and skill development techniques, MUDI alumni have achieved outstanding success nationwide, and the number of national attendees in the past few years speaks volumes about the institute's reputation.
Summer Leadership Institute
The three-day Summer Leadership Institute is for high school students who wish to gain a better understanding of leadership within the various contexts of the college experience. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own leadership abilities and the role leaders play in groups. Students will also learn about what it means to act as a leader in service to others in the community. Finally, we will discuss how to convey leadership experiences in college applications. This program is designed for students who are the first in their family to go to college or who come from a multicultural background.
Summer Reading Enrichment
Marquette University sponsors reading enrichment programs for pre-Kindergarten to adult students.
Urban Journalism Workshop
The Urban Journalism Workshop is an intense two-week program focusing on multimedia news gathering. Students use backpacks of digital equipment — iPods, digital cameras, camcorders, smart phones and MacBooks — to create an online publication.
The Youth Options program is for current Wisconsin public high school students seeking dual enrollment at Marquette. Contact your guidance counselor for requirements outlined by your school district before using this application.
