Through our College of Education, you will prepare yourself for Wisconsin teacher certification at one of the following levels:
Elementary/Middle School (grades 1 through 8)
Middle School/Secondary (grades 6 through 12)
Through our program, you will graduate with a double major in education and an academic content area.

Our collaboration with Milwaukee's public and private schools means you'll have plenty of opportunities to practice what you're learning through field experiences in schools around the city. You'll observe, assist and teach in a variety of school settings through the Milwaukee area: urban, suburban, bilingual, public and parochial.
HELPING CHILDREN ONE BOOK AT A TIME
At the Hartman Literacy and Learning Center, children and undergraduate teachers in training learn from and with each other. Children get the special attention they need to improve their reading skills — and understand what they read. Student teachers get firsthand experience with leading a classroom of their own. It's a special place that exemplifies Marquette's Jesuit mission of caring for the whole person and the College of Education's commitment to put outstanding, culturally sensitive teachers in urban classrooms.
