American Concrete Institute (ACI) Scholarships

Deadline: November 14, 2008

 

Open to students who have completed a bachelor’s degree and who are first- or second-year graduate students pursuing a degree in engineering, architecture, or a materials science program. The program shall be in the area of concrete with an emphasis on structural design, materials, construction or any combination thereof. Must be full-time. Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship

Open to minority students in a graduate healthcare program. Must be U.S. citizen. Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential, community involvement, and commitment to health care administration. Must also demonstrate financial need. Delta Nu Alpha Scholarship

Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships

Government Finance Officers Association

Deadline: February, annually

Nielsen Public Investor Scholarship: Open to an employee of a local government or other public entity who is enrolled or plans to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program in public administration, finance, business administration or related field. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship: Open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time in a program leading to a career in state or local government finance. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. For details and application, visit www.gfoa.org

Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship: Open to upper-division undergraduate or graduate stduents enrolled in public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics or business administration. Must identify as Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific islander, Hispanic or Latino. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Hispanic Professionals Scholarship

Open to students of Hispanic descent who are enrolled in at least 6 credits in the fall 2008 or spring 2009 semesters. Must be enrolled in or applied for an advanced degree program. Institute for Humane Studies

For over forty years, the IHS is dedicated to helping bright undergraduate and graduate students interested in individual liberty pursue their intellectual interests. Applications for the various scholarships, contests (sponsored by www.ThinkForYourself.org), internships and fellowships are available online at www.TheIHS.org. *You do not need to be an IHS alumna/e to apply*.

 

James Madison Graduate Fellowships

The Foundation offers two types of Fellowships: Junior Fellowships are awarded to students who are about to complete, or have completed, their undergraduate course of study and plan to begin graduate work on a full-time basis. Junior Fellows have two years to complete their degree. Senior Fellowships are awarded to teachers who wish to undertake work for a graduate degree on a part-time basis through summer and evening classes. Senior Fellows have up to five years to complete their degree.

 

Jewish Federation of Metro Chicago Scholarship

Deadline: February 15, annually

Open to graduate students enrolled in a helping profession program (medicine, human services, rabbinate, Jewish communal service) and undergraduates enrolled in nursing, mathematics, engineering, performing arts or law (in the helping sector). John Gyles Education Awards

McKnight Endowment Scholarship

Open to M.D. and/or PhD degree students who have completed formal postdoctoral training at the time of application. National Health Service Scholarships

The NHSC offers a competitive scholarship program designed for students committed to providing primary health care in communities of greatest need. Scholarship recipients serve where they are most needed upon completion of their training. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in a fully accredited Family nurse practitioner program (master’s degree in nursing, post-master's or post-baccalaureate certificate), nurse-midwifery program (master's degree in nursing, post-master's or post-baccalaureate certificate), physician assistant program (certificate, associate, baccalaureate, or master's program), or Dental school. National Physical Science Consortium

NPSC's primary objective is to aid in increasing the number of Ph.D.s in the physical sciences and related engineering fields, emphasizing recruitment of a diverse applicant pool of women and historically underrepresented minorities. National Security Education Program

The National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Graduate Fellowships enable U.S. graduate students to pursue specialization in area and language study or to add an international dimension to their education.

 

NOBCCChE Awards for Students and Professionals

The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemist and Chemical Engineers (NOBCCChE) was established to build a community of scientists and engineers by increasing the number of minorities in these fields. Northern Illinois Society of Human Resource Mgmt

Deadline: March, annually

Open to students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a human resource or related field. Must have completed two courses in major, and a minimum of 24 credit hours at the time of applying. Must be currently enrolled for 15 credit hours. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Applicants must demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and/or commitment to community service, both on and off campus. St. John’s University Scholarship

St. John’s University awards two tuition-free scholarships for the Master’s degree to graduates of Catholic colleges or universities who have expressed a determination to enter the teaching profession. U.S. Army Center of Military History Dissertation Fellowships

To support scholarly research and writing among qualified civilian graduate students preparing dissertations in the history of war on land, the Center offers two Dissertation Fellowships each year. These fellowships carry a $9,000 stipend and access to the Center's facilities and technical expertise.

Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium

The WSGC is a NASA-funded program dedicated to using the excitement and vision of space science and aerospace science to equip the citizens of WI with the math, science, and technology tools they need to thrive in the next century. Each year WSGC provided tens of thousands of competitively awarded grant dollars to undergraduate (including incoming freshmen) and graduate students throughout the state of Wisconsin. Women’s Transport Seminar (WTS) Scholarships

Helene Overly Graduate Scholarship- open to graduate women currently enrolled in a transportation related field such as transportation engineering, planning, finance or logistics. Must have plans to pursue a career in a transportation related field. Must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applications available in Scholarship Department.

President’s Legacy Scholarship- open to graduate women currently enrolled in a transportation related field such as transportation engineering, security planning, business management, finance or logistics. Must have plans to pursue a career in a transportation related field. Must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must also demonstrate an interest in addressing global transportation issue(s).
