Below is a schedule that will assist you in determining the number of hours a student can work per week based on their work award and pay rate. We have developed this chart in order to avoid your student employees depleting their work award before the end of the academic year. If you find that the number of hours a student can work per week does not meet your needs, contact our office before the student begins work in order to see if the award can be increased.
This schedule is based on 35 work weeks with the assumption that the student will not work during the Christmas or spring break holidays. If a student will be working during spring break or over the Christmas holidays, their hours worked per week should be decreased.

per hour
The above hours per week are close approximations based on 35 academic work weeks. If you have received a different work award than those listed above, you may figure your hours per week based on the following:
1. Total Award Amount, divided by the number of work weeks = $Amount able to earn per week.
2. $Amount divided by rate of pay = number of hours able to work per week.
SAMPLE:$2,000 divided by 35 = $57.14 (able to earn per week)$57.14 divided by $5.15 = 11.00 (hours to work per week)
This schedule assumes that you will not work full time during any break period (such as Christmas and Spring break). If you plan on working during breaks please adjust your schedule accordingly.
If you are working in more than one position the hours per week, per position, must be divided appropriately.
