Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations

The Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations raises philanthropic support for university priorities and programs by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, stewarding and maintaining relationships with primarily local and national corporations, not excluding the potential to solicit corporate and private foundations.  The Director will provide leadership and coordination to the campus in approaching corporations for major gifts, working closely with deans, faculty, administrators and advancement colleagues.  In this position, the Director proactively seeks opportunities to generate proposals based on corporate interests that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the university.  This position has a significant effect on the university's ability to engage current and future donors in a meaningful way and is responsible for enhancing the university's ability to create and maintain strong relationships with corporations, increasing the overall visibility of the university.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university along with seven to ten years of demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, preferably in higher education (or a comparably complex organization) needed.  The understanding and knowledge of trends in corporate giving and the insight into the healthcare and business community along with the ability to think and act independently and creatively to significantly broaden the university's corporate support is required.  A master's degree is preferred, along with extensive work with corporate fundraising, personal solicitation and strategic planning experience.  The ability to work with colleagues across the University and establish and foster relationships that encourage a collaborative work environment is ideal.

**This is not a grant writing position but strategic direction and coordination with the writing team is critical.**

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Application review will continue until position is filled.

SALARY:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
