Taking a step off the Marquette campus, students will quickly realize that Milwaukee is struggling from poverty, hunger and many other related issues. Milwaukee has been named the 9th poorest nation in the United States with 29.9% of the city lying under the poverty level; this includes nearly half of the city’s children struggling to be provided with three meals a day.
