Matthew Costello recently presented a paper at the 5th Annual Northern Illinois University History Conference entitled, "The Bones of Washington: Relics, Identity, and Sectionalism in Antebellum Virginia." The paper received "The Best Paper by a Ph.D. Student" Award at the conference on October 26, 2012. Northern Illinois University Press will also publish the essay in the near future as a part of an collection edited by NIU faculty and graduate students.
