Tuition Remission
For employees: This plan allows full-time regular and part-time regular employees to attend classes on a part-time basis to obtain an undergraduate or graduate degree. The offering allows full-time employees to take seven credit-hours in each of the Spring and Fall semesters, and eight credit hours in the summer session. Part-time employees may take up to four credit hours in each of the Spring and Fall semesters, and eight credit hours in the summer session. Eligibility - the start of the semester following hire date.
For Spouse: This plan allows spouses of full-time regular employees to attend classes on a part-time basis to obtain an undergraduate or graduate degree. The offering allows seven credit hours in each of the Spring and Fall semesters and eight credit hours in the summer session. Eligibility - the start of the semester following hire date.
For Dependents: This plan allows dependents of full-time regular employees to attend classes on a full-time basis at Marquette University. Each student is required to meet the usual academic and other requirements for admission to and retention by the university. Eligibility - the start of the semester following five years of employment.

Benefit Code: PR: Part-time regular
Faculty members who are defined as part-time regular faculty and instruct a minimum of six credit hours per semester, or School of Dentistry faculty who work 1,000 hours or more per year and have at least a full academic year contract are eligible for the following benefits:
- Health insurance (member pays full premium)
- Dental insurance (member pays full premium) Effective January 1, 2007
- Life insurance (member pays full premium)
- Flexible Spending Account
- Tuition remission for self (up to seven credits per semester)
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Marquette Identification Card and an e-mail account
- TIAA-CREF Supplemental Account - Individual may contribute own dollars (without university match) first of month following hire date
- TIAA–CREF Retirement Annuity; receives Marquette matching 8% after two consecutive years of employment if individual contributes 5% of salary. (Annual workload must equate to a minimum of 1,000 hours per year [one credit hour = three hours and 31 weeks = 1 year] and 21 years of age.)
Benefit Code: NR: Part-time Regular with No Benefits
Part-time Faculty members who are defined as part-time regular with no benefits instruct less then six credit hours per semester, or are a part of the School of Dentistry faculty working less than 1,000 hours. These faculty have at least a full academic year contract are eligible for the following benefits:
- TIAA-CREF Supplemental Account - Individual may contribute own dollars (without university match) first of month following hire date
- Tuition remission for self (must instruct a minimum of three credit hours per semester. Entitlement is limited to the number of credit hours faculty member is instructing that semester.)
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Marquette Identification Card and an e-mail account
Benefit Code PT: Part-time Temporary
Part-time faculty who have less than a full academic year contract. They are eligibile to participate in the TIAA-CREF supplemental account.
