Hiring a Temporary Employee as a Permanent MU Employee

  • An Authorization to Recruit must be completed, approved and sent to Human Resources.

  • The vacant position will be posted in the WFM and the temporary employee must go through the interview process.

  • The Human Resources Department must make all job offers. Please notify Human Resources before you discuss any plans of permanent employment with the temporary employee.

  • The contracts with our temporary agencies state that temporary employees must work 90 days or 520 hours before they are able to become permanent employees. If a department would like to hire a temporary employee before this time, a buyout fee will apply.
