Depth of Thought, Depth of Imagination: Challenging Superficiality
At the first in a series of academic events to be held in conjunction with the Inauguration, three Marquette educators and guest presenter Rev. Michael Zampelli, S.J., take up the challenge of the “globalization of superficiality” from an address Rev. Adolfo Nicolas, S.J., presented to Jesuit university leaders in 2010 in Mexico City. Father Nicolas is the general superior of the Society of Jesus, and Father Zampelli is the Paul Locatelli, S.J., Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Santa Clara University.

Special Exhibitions at the Haggerty Museum of Art
Current Tendencies II presents many never-before-seen works created specifically for the Haggerty Museum by 10 Milwaukee artists. Each artist was paired with a Marquette professor who wrote a reflection on the artist’s work based on the professor’s area of experience. A second exhibit, The Sacred Made Real, shows Old Masters from the Haggerty’s Permanent Collection.
